Highlife (QLD)

Friday 20th October, 9pm. Free Entry

Highlife are a six-piece band from The Sunshine coast, an hour north of Brisbane and was formed by a group of musicians who all shared a love of the sounds of Africa and have pioneered its own brand of music "Afro Psyche". A blend of Psychedelic, Funk, Afro Beat, and Trance, fused with a nonstop performance to create a catatonic dance fiesta.

They will be playing at Settlers Tavern on October 20 as a part of their first tour to WA.

Their latest EP release 'Aware' and winning the Queensland Music Award for the Title track, has set them up as one of the most reputable live experiences in South East Queensland.

They have captivated audiences at Woodford Folk Festival, Caloundra Music Festival, Island Vibe and Kuranda Roots amongst many more.

They've shared the stage with the likes of Vieux Farke Toure, Natalie Rize (Blue King Brown), Notis (Jamaica), Bassidi Koné, Wild Marmalade, Hot Potato Band, Kooii, Kingfisha, Ash Grunwald and Afro-Dizzi Act to name a few.

The members are Hayden Hack - Guitar and vocals, Leon Tussie - Drums, Brad Wenham -Bass, Nathaniel Combes - African Percussion, Lee Hardisty - Saxophone and Flute, Patrick Kiernan - Guitar

With an infectious live show to get you twirling, jumping and tribal dancing, HighLife will

awaken your deep subconscious collective dna and will have you grinning, sweating and

connecting with all those around in a frenzied festival feast of fun.

And that is exactly what it is.
